2025 Integrity in Government Award

During its 25th Annual Conference, The Anti-Fraud Coalition bestowed its “Honest Abe” Integrity in Government Award to Colin Huntley, Deputy Director of the Fraud Section in the United States Department of Justice’s Civil Division.

This award recognizes dedication to public service and a commitment to False Claims Act enforcement and the whistleblowers who make these cases possible.

Colin Huntley has served as an attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Civil Fraud Section for 18 years, working closely with the relator’s bar. He exemplifies the highest standards of professional achievement and public service that are embodied by the Honest Abe Integrity in Government Award.

Colin graduated from Georgetown University magna cum laude and cum laude from Georgetown Law School. He clerked for the U.S. District Court for the District of Vermont and the Court of Appeals for Third Circuit. After a stint at WilmerHale, Colin has said publicly that he was “really drawn to service-oriented work that was more mission driven and fulfilling” and that “despite the big financial sacrifices [he’s made], it has been worth the trade-off” because of the rewards of public service.

Colin’s False Claims Act docket is expansive and because of the sheer breadth of his experience, he is sought after nationally to advise and consult with U.S. Attorney’s Offices. He has overseen millions of dollars in False Claims Act recoveries, including healthcare fraud, disaster assistance fraud, government contracting fraud, and customs fraud enforcement. Colin has directed national enforcement efforts involving the Paycheck Protection Program—a sizeable responsibility post-pandemic—and has publicly stated, “[w]histleblowers have played an important part in uncovering COVID relief fraud. We rely on whistleblowers a great deal.” He has received numerous accolades, including the Attorney General’s Award for Exceptional Service as a team member for the $2.3 billion prosecution of off-label promotion and kickbacks by Pfizer.

“We were honored to award Colin the Integrity in Government Award,” said Jacklyn DeMar, the President and CEO of The Anti-Fraud Coalition, “his legacy of mission-driven service and his unwavering partnership with whistleblowers exemplify the highest standards that the award was created to honor.”
