State Zyprexa Deal in the Wings
Eli Lilly is in “advanced discussions” with several states as it tries to settle still-outstanding FCA cases dealing with Zyprexa. In expectation of a settlement, Lilly has taken a $105 million pretax charge. In January, Lilly reached a $1.42 billion agreement with the Department of Justice over off-label marketing of Zyprexa, but some states refused to sign on to the DoJ deal saying they wanted more money. >> To read more
Baxter Pays $6.8 Million to IL
Baxter has agreed to pay Illinois $6.8 million for fraudulently inflating the average wholesale price of more than two dozen Baxter drugs. Baxter is the eighth company to settle charges with Illinois; cases continue against three dozen other companies. >> To read more
