NJ Hospital to Pay $3.8 Million
Cooper University Hospital in Camden, N.J., has agreed to pay the United States $3.85 million, plus interest, to settle allegations it defrauded Medicare by manipulating outlier payments. >> To read more

After 14 Years
Pogue Goes to Trial

United States ex rel. Pogue v. Diabetes Treatment Centers of America will soon go to trial after 14 years of litigation.  The Pogue case was one of the first in the U.S. to establish that Anti-Kickback Act violations could serve as the basis of a False Claims Act case -- a precedent that has already lead to more than a billion dollars being returned to the U.S. Treasury. >>

Abbott Settles with Pennsylvania

Abbott Laboratories has agreed to pay $6.95 million to the state of  Pennsylvania in order to settle charges the company artificially inflated Medicaid drug prices by lying about Average Wholesale Prices for prescription drugs.  Pennsylvania will receive approximately $4.49 million with an additional payment of $2.4 million in various attorneys' fees.  >> To read more

Roxanne Settles With Massachusetts
Roxanne, a division of Boehringer Ingelheim, has agreed to pay the state of Massachusetts $1.8 million to settle False Claims Act charges the company price-gouged the state Medicaid program by manipulating the reported Average Wholesale Price of prescription drugs. To read more
