TAF Names New Executive Director
Neil Getnick, Chairman of the Board of Taxpayers Against Fraud (TAF) and the TAF Education Fund, announced that Jeb White has been promoted to Executive Director of TAF and the TAF Education Fund, replacing Jim Moorman who will remain at TAF for at least several months as President of TAF to assist with the transition before formally retiring.
Said Neil Getnick, "Jim Moorman's tenure at TAF has been one of remarkable accomplishment. Jim's work has strengthened and expanded the False Claims Act bar, by forging a congenial community of lawyers and whistleblowers that bring larger and better cases to the attention of the U.S. Department of Justice. During Jim's tenure, False Claims Act legislation has dramatically expanded at the state level, and new law has been adopted that requires Medicaid contractors to explain the False Claims Act to all employees. At the same time, a new IRS whistleblower act was enacted, and double taxation of whistleblower awards was ended. Under Jim's guidance, TAF has been a part of all of this and the organization has come of age."
Getnick noted that while Jim will remain close at hand for advice, he leaves TAF in very capable hands. "Jeb White's enthusiasm for the False Claims Act has already yielded impressive results. During his three-year tenure, Jeb has published numerous articles about the FCA, launched the first legal website devoted to FCA qui tam counsel, reinvigorated the amicus curiae brief program, and coordinated various educational programs, including the nation's largest annual conference on False Claims Act litigation. Jeb, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Georgetown Law, has presented at numerous conferences across the country and has been recognized as one of the nation's leading authorities on health care fraud, as evidenced by his recent selection to the BNA Health Care Fraud Report's Board of Advisors. Under Jeb's guiding hand, we believe that TAF will continue its assent and whistleblowers will be well served, as this field of law continues to develop positively.” n
