New Georgia False Claims Act
Georgia’s Senate has passed a “State False Medicaid Claims Act.” The House had already approved an identical bill, and Governor Sonny Perdue is expected to sign the legislation into law. Uncle Sam's $30 Million
DoJ says it may join an FCA lawsuit in order to collect $30 million won by a relator but overturned on technical grounds by a judge. DoJ notes that if a relator is dismissed from a case, the court retains subject matter jurisdiction if it intervenes. About $30 million is at stake. >> To read more
