Record $334 Million Judgment
A record $334 million False Claims Act judgment was levied against Amerigroup in a case in which the company was accused of discriminating against pregnant women who were supposed to be recruited into a state-sponsored Medicaid HMO. In addition to triple damages of $144 million, the court levied an additional $190 million in statutory fines. Amerigroup has appealed the judgment. >> To read more
